William Clarence Miles, of 995 Dalton Ave., Hermitage, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 3:38 p.m. at O'Brien Memorial Health Care Center, Masury, Ohio after an extended illness. He was 83.
He was born in Pardo, PA on September 18, 1929, the son of the late Edward Theodore and Estalee Gayle (Lynch) Miles. He was a 1947 graduate of Grove City High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sharon. Bill had worked as a letter carrier at U.S. Post Office for 31 years. In his younger years, he had worked for the Howe Coffee Company in Grove City, PA.
Bill was Past Master of former Lodge #250 and a member of Kedron Lodge #389 of West Middlesex, PA, F.&A.M.. and a member of the National Camping Travelers Association. Bill enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing and watching all Pittsburgh sporting events.
He was the husband of Grace I. (Temple) Miles. whom he married on July 3, 1953. She survives at home.
Also survivng are his daughters, Jenny Miles of Fontana, CA, Barbara Johnson and her husband, David, of Hermitage,PA. and a son, William H. Miles and his wife, Patty, of Aaronsburg, PA. along with four grandchildren, Sarah and Kyle Miles and Jason and Amanda Johnson, and a brother, Donald Miles and his wife, Debra, of Geneva,OH. Besides his parents, he was preceeded in death by his sister, Sally Hughes.

Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, PA. at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 16th, 2013, with Rev.Terry Mann, pastor, Covenant Presbyterian Church, officiating. Military Honors at the funeral home provided by the Hickory VFW, Post 6166. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery Hermitage, PA.
