William H Hunter

William H. Hunter, Brookfield twp., OH, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 8:30 p.m., in Sharon Regional Health System, after an extended illness. He was 83.
Bill was born in Sharon, PA on September 30, 1931, the son of the late Howard H. and Myrtle (Hogue) Hunter. He attended Sharon schools growing up. Bill was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served his country during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sharon. Bill had worked as craneman at Fessler Machine Co. Sharon, for 20 years. He had previously worked at the former A & P grocery store in Sharon for 25 years.
He enjoyed gardening, doing yard work, attending dirt track races at local tracks and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Bill was married to Norma Jean (Tice) Hunter, whom he married on June 7, 1952. She survives at home. Also surviving are his two daughters, Sheree Serbin and her husband, Bruce, of Canfield, OH, Sally Carr, and her husband, Bob, of Franklin, PA, and two sons, William D. "Billy" Hunter, and his wife, Marcia, and Donald Hunter, all of Brookfield, OH. along with 7 granddaughters, Megan Pisarcik, Alyson Hardman, Alexis Santell, Jessica and Sara Serbin, and Jennifer and Stephanie Carr, and his 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Connie Matvey, of Mercer, PA and his brother, David Hunter of Sharon, PA. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley and Dolly and a brother, Gary.

Friends may call on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 5:00-7:00p.m. at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA 16146
Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, PA. at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, April 23rd, with Rev. John Trojak , of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery Hermitage, PA.
