William P Dawson Sr.

William P. Dawson, Sr., of Sharon, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at 12:41 a.m., in St.Elizabeth's Medical Center, Youngstown, OH, after an extended illness. He was 62.
Bill was born in Amsterdam, NY on September 29, 1953, the son of the late Douglas Dawson and Eleanor Lawton
He had worked as a newspaper delivery driver at The Herald, Sharon, PA., for 12 years. He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Apollo Mannechor Club, both of Sharon. Bill had been a softball and Little League coach in his younger days. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, whom he loved very much. Bill was a very giving man with a generous heart and would do anything for anyone. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was of the Baptist faith.
He was the husband of Claira M. (Reed) Dawson. whom he married on June 5, 1999. She survives him.
Also surviving are his daughters, Jenifer Bondarenko, Jackie Johansen, and Loretta Dawson, his sons, William P. Dawson Jr.,and Thomas Dawson, and step-daughters, Brittany Gambill, Bridget Gambill, Raelynn "ChaCha" Johnston, step-sons, Bryant, Brandon, & Brett Gambill, his sister, Loretta Klingbeil, and his brothers, Danny and Doug Dawson, and Harry & Roland Lawton. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 3 great- grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his 4 brothers, Butch, Tommy, and Kenny Davis and Chuck Dawson.
A Gathering Time will be held on Wednesday Dec. 30, 2015 , from noon until 2:00 p.m., at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA 16146.
A Memorial Service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, PA. at 2:00 p.m., on Wed., December 30th, with Rev. Thomas Bondarenko (deceased's son-in-law) pastor of God Within Church, Sharon, officiating. Cremation services provided by the funeral home.
