William "Bill" Barth

Willam "Bill" Barth, .of Hermitage, PA, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family at 7:15 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017 after an extended illness. He was 88.
Bill was born in Sharon, PA on October 16, 1928, the son of the late Stephan and Victoria (Crisan) Barth.
He was a 1947 graduate of Farrell High School where he was on the wrestling team. He went on to serve his country by serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Bill had worked at at the former Sharon Steel retiring in 1989. He also owned the former Barth Heating and Roofing for several years.
Bill was a member of the Sharon American Legion Post #299 along with several other local veteran's clubs. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and he enjoyed spending time at the ocean, listening to polka music, and going to casinos. His biggest joy in life was spending with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
He married the former Gloria J. Chiodo on Aug. 24, 1957. She passed away on Aug. 15, 2005. He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Bucci and her husband Brian, and his son, William J. Barth, all of Hermitage, PA a granddaughter, Brandy Watterson, of Hermitage, PA, two grandsons, Justin Bucci and his wife Paula, of Sharon, PA, and Andrew Bucci of Hermitage, PA, and a great-grandson, Giovanni Bucci. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Pauline Barth, of Masury, OH, and Catherine Barth, of Sharon, PA, a niece, Karen Radanovich, of Chandler, AZ, and a nephew, Stephan Barth and his wife, Lisa, of Spring Grove, IL, along with several other nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Stephan F. Barth and Andrew Barth , two nephews and two great nephews.
At his request there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA 16146 at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 27th, with Rev. Phillip Cooper of the Shenango Valley Baptist Church officiating. Military honors will be presented at the funeral home by the Shenango Valley Honor Guard. Cremation services provided the funeral home.
