William James Johnston, of Sharpsville, PA, passed away unexpectedly on , Wed., Dec. 9, 2015 at 9:43 p.m. , in UPMC Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA after a brief illness. He was 70.
William was born in Sharon, PA on August 27, 1945, the son of the late Paul Henry and Kathleen Eurilla (Deal) Johnston. He was a 1963 graduate of Sharpsville High School. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army, from 1963 till 1966 doing two tours of duty during the Vietnam War.
William was the owner of at Johnston's Upholstering , Sharpsville, for for many years. Previously, he had worked at Walmart in Hermitage. He was a member of the Sharpsville American Legion Post 162 and the Sharpsville VFW Post 6404 .
On April 24, 1971, he married the former Virginia Mae Haag. She survives him at home. He is also survived by two daughters, Cassandra Silimperi and her husband, Anthony, of York, PA and Erica Titus and her husband, Troy, of Sharpsville, PA his six grandchildren, Christopher Titus and his wife, Lorna, Dustin Koser, Ethan Koser, Giovanni Silimperi, Armando Silimperi, and Alessandra Silimperi, and his brother, Thomas Johnston and his wife, Joy, Of Sharpsville, PA . Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
