Warren Horner

Warren Horner, of Lackawannock twp., Mercer , PA, died at his residence on Dec. 18, 2017. He was 88.
Warren was born in Hermitage, PA on March 26, 1929, the son of the late Harry and Ruth Elizabeth (Thompson) Horner. He graduated from Hickory High School in 1947. Warren went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army Signal Corp. from 1951 - 1953.
He had worked as a coil winder at the former Westinghouse plant in Sharon for 38 years before retiring.
Warren was a member of the F.& A.M. Shenango Valley Lodge #810, the Scottish Rite, Valley of New Castle Consistory, the Zem Zem Shrine of Erie, the Sharpsville American Legion Post 6404, and the Hickory V.F.W. Post 6166. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sharon.
Warren is survived by his sister, Ellen Sheriff of Barstow, CA, a niece, Lynn Ellen Mendez, and three nephews, Richard, Ralph and David Sheriff. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Robert Sheriff.
At his request there will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held at a later date to be announced.. Cremation services provided by the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA.
