Wanda Rose Yurkon, Transfer, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 10:45 a.m.. She was 91.
Wanda was born in New Castle, PA on June 23, 1924, the eldest daughter of the late Robert B. Fulton Sr. and Margaret M. (Cunningham) Fulton. She was a 1941 graduate of Brookfield High School and attended the former Shenango Valley Commercial Institute.
Wanda was a homemaker who felt raising her five children was the greatest joy of her life. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Sharon and was Past-President of the Episcopal Church Women's Group. Wanda was active in the North Sharon Volunteer Fireman's Auxiliary, the Sharon General Hospital "Gray Ladies" Auxiliary, Transfer Saddle Mates, committee member of the Transfer Harvest Home, a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, and was the chapter coordinator of the United Ostomy Association.
She married George R. Yurkon. on June 7, 1947. He survives her at home. Also surviving are her three daughters, Patricia J. Williams Polliprone, Ph.D of Erie, PA, Kathleen Garrett, and her husband Todd, of Transfer, PA, Barbara L. Leali, of Poland, OH, her son, Mark L. Yurkon , and his wife Kim, of Magnolia, TX, and a daughter-in-law, Alice Williams, of Hermitage, PA. She is also survived by her brother, Robert B. Fulton Jr., and his wife Pat of Medina, OH and 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 4 great- great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, James R. Williams, and her sisters, Janice Struble, Joanne Larson and Judith Cunningham -Fulton.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 28, 2016, from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA 16146.
Funeral service at St. John's Episcopal Church, Sharon at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 29th, with Rev. Dennis Blauser officiating. Interment at Rickert Cemetery, Transfer, PA.
