Walter F. Sinkuc, Sharon, PA, formerly of Masury and Springfield, OH, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 5:57 p.m. , in Juniper Village in Sharon, after an extended illness. He was 94..
Walter was born in Farrell, PA on September 24, 1920, the son of the late Frank and Frances (Suszynski) Sinkuc. He was a graduate of Farrell High School.. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp as a Sgt in WW II.
Before his service in the war, he had served with the Civilian Conservation Corp.
He was an active member of St. Stanislaus Koska -Holy Trinity Church in Sharon. For many years, Walter led the Rosary before mass.
He had worked as a foreman at Wheatland Tube for over 35 years. Walter was a member of the Sharon American Legion, Post 299, and was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 40 years. He enjoyed playing cards an traveling.
He was the widower of Grace "Jean" (McCullough) Sinkuc. whom he married on May 18, 1946. She died on Feb. 27, 2002. He is survived by four daughters, Thea Betts and her husband, Norman, of Fowler, OH.
Marita Anderson of Canby, CA, Mary Anne Messina , and her husband, Joseph, of Springfield, OH and Catherine Laureigh of Masury, OH, and three sons, Joseph Sinkuc and his wife Patricia, of Sharon, PA, James Sinkuc and his wife, Myong, of Harrisonburg, VA and, Walter S. Sinkuc, and his wife, Valerie, of Farrell, PA. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
