Virginia L. Nelson

Mrs. Virginia L. Nelson, 66, of 179 Brook Drive Brookfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 6:45 p.m after an extended illness.

Virginia was born in Sharon, PA on February 27, 1945, the daughter of the late Harold Leroy and Hazel Elizabeth (Singer) Thomas. She attended Hubbard Ohio Schools growing up. Virginia had worked as a clerk in the bakery at at Giant Eagle in Liberty twp., Ohio, for 9 years.and had also worked at the former J.C. Penney store in Liberty twp. and the former Valley View Department Store in Brookfield, Ohio. Virginia enjoyed collecting lighthouses, playing bingo, and trips to Mountaineer Casino.

She was the wife of George W."Butch" Nelson Sr.. whom she married on July 25, 1962. He survives at home. Also surviving are her daughter, Deborah Kilar of Jacksonville, NC. and two sons, Ronald Nelson and his wife, Lisa, of Masury, OH.,and George W. Nelson Jr.and his wife, Eunice, of Columbus, OH. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren along with several brothers and sisters. Besides her parents, she was preceeded in death by a brother and a sister.
