Mr. Tibor F. "Steve" Samu, 74, of 51 Maple Place Sharpsville, PA passed away, Friday, June 8, 2012 at 6:07 p.m. in Sharon Regional Health System, after a brief illness.
Mr. Samu was born in Gyod, Hungary, on August 26, 1937, the son of the late John A. and Irene (Szabo) Samu. Steve gained his freedom in November of 1956 by crossing the border into Austria and eventually making his way to his life here in the United States.
He was a member of Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon, PA. He had worked as the restaurant manager at the former J.C. Penney Restaurant in Hermitage. In years past, he had worked at the Trumbull Country Club in Warren, OH, the former Shenango Inn in Sharon, and at D'Onofrio's Food Store in Hermitage. Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Carol L. (Gunsley) Samu. His first wife, Mary J.(Reardon) is deceased. His survivors include his son, Christopher S. Samu and his wife, Traci, of Hermitage,PA and his daughters, Loretta Augustine and her husband, John, of Masury, OH, Carolyn Guzik and her husband John, of Hermitage,PA and Tami Hedglin of Sharpsville, PA. along with 3 grandsons, James Back, Gary and Daniel Guzik, and 3 grandaughters, Charlee Hedglin, and Kesi and Dylanne McClinton and 3 great-grandchildren. Also surving are two sisters, Irene Szeiber and Marietta Grutto of Hungary and one niece, Teresa Dhimmar and 5 nephews, Endre, Attila, and Michael Samu and John Samu III and Steven Madden. Besides his first wife and his parents, he was preceeded in death by his brother, John Samu II.

Funeral service at Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon, PA. at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday, June 13th, with Rev. Henry C. Andrae officiating. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery,Hermitage Pa.
