Therese Irene Brenneis

Therese I. Brenneis, of 603 Lafayette Ave., Sharon, died unexpectedly at 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, in her home . She was 102.
Mrs. Brenneis was born in Sharon, PA on October 12, 1911, the daughter of the late Charles and Theresa (O'Brien) Presley. She was a 1929 graduate of the former Sacred Heart School and then went on to graduate from the former Sharon Commercial Institute. After her graduation, she was employed in the rectory of Sacred Heart Church as a secretary/ receptionist for 5 years and later managed the former Kohler's Dry Cleaners in Sharon for 11 years. She was a devout Catholic and a lifetlong member of Sacred Heart Church in Sharon. She was an avid reader who enjoyed sewing and baking . Therese loved all animals, especially her many cats.
She enjoyed 50 years of blissful marriage with her husband, Thomas P. Brenneis, having been married on February 15, 1947. He died Dec. 25, 2006.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Lismon, and her three sons, Thomas, Gerard, and James, along with four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.
Donations in her memory may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 40 S. Irvine Ave., Sharon, PA, 16146 or to an animal charity of the donor's choice.
At her request, there was no visitation. A private funeral service was held at Sacred Heart Church, with Rev. Henry C. Andrae officiating. Private burial took place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage, PA. Funeral arrangements were by the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA.
