Theodore Robert Hull, of 339 East Jamestown Rd., Greenville, PA, formerly of Hermitage and Audubon, PA, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2013, at 11:42 p.m., at St. Paul's Continuing Care Community, in Greenville, after an extended illness. He was 83.
Theodore was born in Troy, NY on June 10, 1930, the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Margaret (Ambrose) Hull. After graduating from high school, he went on to earn a mechanical engineering degree at Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute. He served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant in the Korean Conflict. Theodore was active in the Army reserves for 30 years, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He also had served in the R.O.T.C. program.
He had worked as an engineering consultant at LTK Engineering Bluebell, PA., for several years having spent 5 years working in France & England on the tunnel through the English Channel.. Previously he had worked at the former Greenville Steel Car in Greenville, PA. He had his professional engineering license in over 30 states. Theodore was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Train Collectors Association.
He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Wilcox) Hull. whom he married on June 29, 1952. She survives in Greenville. Also surviving are his two daughters, Melinda Hull of Tokyo, Japan and Cynthia Riggs of Sharon, PA. and a son, Jeffrey Hull and his wife Jessie, of Hermitage, PA along with his 5 grandchildren, Bradley and Bryan Schroeder, Christopher, Caitlin, and Courtney Hull along with his brother, David Hull and his wife, Diane, of Keeseville, NY and a sister, Barbara Hull, of North Carolina.
