Having lived a long and fulfilling life, Teresa Marie Del Fratte (formerly of Sharpsville, PA) passed away peacefully in Erie, PA on August 18, 2024 after a brief illness at the age of 93.
Born on December 29, 1930, Tessie was the daughter of Anthony and Margaret lorio of Sharon, PA. She graduated from Sharon High School and after a brief stint as bookkeeper, she married Rocco Anthony Del Fratte on May 19, 1953. Tessie spent the next 17 years as a stay-at-home mom, devoting her time and love to her two children, Thomas and Carol.
Teresa began work as a secretary at South Pymatuning Elementary School in 1973 and eventually became the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent of the Sharpsville School District until she retired in 1993. Her entire life was devoted to caring for her immediate and extended family and her keeping her absolute faith in God. Tessie also enjoyed relentlessly doing crossword puzzles and watching her soaps and black and white westerns. Re- locating to Erie, PA in 2005 to be nearer to her son, Thomas, Teresa flourished in her independent life at Parkside Retirement Home where she developed new friendships and participated in a variety of social events sponsored by the facility, especially enjoying Bingo night. But her true joy was sharing every moment she could with her family and friends. Teresa will always be remembered as an inspirational matriarch who quietly drew the attention, love, and respect of all that knew her.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Margaret; her husband, Rocco (Rocky); her daughter, Carol; her sister, Marriane; and two brothers, Blase (Benny) and John (Red). She is survived by her son, Thomas, his wife Kathy of Erie and his step-daughters Madison, Haley and Hunter. Teresa is also survived by three generations of very special and loving nieces and nephews.
Teresa's family extends a special thank you to the employees and tenants at Parkside Retirement Home, VNA Hospice, and Walnut Creek Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center nurses, attendants and administration for their love and care of Teresa.
