Sylvester B. Borsa, of 500 Clarksville Rd. Hermitage, formerly of Robertson Rd., Hermitage,PA passed away at 7:10 a.m. on Monday, March, 9, 2015 in Nugent 's CCRC in Hermitage after an extended illness. He was 86.
He was born in Columbus, PA on November 25, 1928, the son of the late Boleslaw and Catherine (Woszlek) Borsa. He was a 1947 graduate of Cory (PA) High School and went to Gannon University for 1 year. Sylvester was a member of Notre Dame Church Hermitage, PA.
He had worked as a manager at of the former Loblaw's grocery store in Sharon and Farrell, PA. He also had worked as an appliance salesman at the former Woolco in Youngstown and at J. C. Penney's in Hermitage . Sylvester was a member of the Polish National Alliance. He enjoyed camping and swimming.
He was the widower of Elizabeth (Sarnicki) Borsa. whom he married on Feb. 5, 1949 in St.Thomas Church in Cory, PA. She died Sept. 4, 2010. He is survived by three daughters, Susan Ivanison and her husband, Gregory, of Hubbard, OH, Pamela Borsa and her companion, Daniel Jordan, of Burghill, OH, and
Laurie Chrobak, and her husband, Jeffrey,of Hubbard, OH, and two sons, Michael Borsa and his wife, Kathy, of Hermitage, PA, and Thomas Borsa of Kansas City, MO, along with seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his two sisters, Mary Waite, of Orlando, FL, and Kate Obchowski of Stanford, CN. Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

At the family's request there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at Notre Dame Church, Hermitage. at 10:30a.m. on Thursday, March 12th, 2015, with Rev. Jeffrey Noble officiating. Entombment St,. Rose Cemetery Mausoleum Hermitage, PA.
