Stanton D. "Stan" Rambeck, 94, of Hermitage, formerly of Trumbull Drive, Sharon, PA, passed away surrounded by family an Mon. Feb. 5, 2018 in Sharon Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness. He was 94..
Stan was born in the Red River Valley country of North Dakota, near Reynolds, on September 9, 1923, the son of the late James M. and Mabel E. (Haugen)Rambeck. After graduating from high school, he served as an Army Combat Engineer in both the European and Pacific theaters during World War II. Following the war, he returned home to marry Donna Jean Holliday, the girl next door , on June 12, 1947. In June of last year, they celebrated 70 years together. He enrolled in the University of North Dakota and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduation, he was hired by the Westinghouse Transformer Division, which brought the couple to Sharon.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Sharon, where he had served on f Church Council as well as being on several committees of the church. Stan was a member of F.& A.M. Shenango Valley Lodge # 810 of Hermitage, the B.P.O.E. #103 of Sharon, the Westinghouse Retirees, and he volunteered for Meals On Wheels for several years. He enjoyed boating very much and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Donna Rambeck, of Hermitage, PA, and his three daughters, Joan Harkulich and her husband, John of Syracuse, NY and their daughter Heather Stapleton and husband John. of Marlton, NJ and children, Noah and Joseph, a son John M. Harkulich and his wife Christiana, of Oxford, OH, Linda and her husband Jim Braymer of Sharon, PA their family Katie Bodien and husband David of Sharon and their children Kalyn, Claire, and Bryce. their son Jake Braymer and his wife Maria, of Burlington, WA, and Janet Barretta and her husband, Gary, of Kailua, HI and their children, Cody Barretta and his wife Candace of Kaneohe, HI, Kyle Baretta of Lake Forest, CA, and Chad and his wife, Reanna, of Santa Anna, CA.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Hodnefield, and a brother Donald Rambeck. Donations in his memory may be made to Meals on Wheels, 396 Buhl Blvd., Sharon, PA 16146.
At his request there will be no calling hours A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, Sharon, PA. at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24th, with Rev. Michael Lozano officiating.
