Shirley M. Christenson

Shirley M. Christenson, of Masury, OH, formerly of Sharon, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 4:17 a.m. in West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, after an extended illness. She was 65.
Shirley was born in Farrell, PA on January 7, 1952, the daughter of the late Russell and Ruth (McCallister) Root.
Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her dog, Mia. She is survived by her four daughters, Rhonda Evans of Sharon, PA, Loretta Evans of Hermitage, PA, Tina Lacey & her husband Brian of Masury, OH, Tammy Woodworth and her husband Shawn, of Masury, OH, and her two sons, Kevin Evans and his wife Stephanie of Newton Falls, OH, Robert "Bob" Christenson III of Hermitage, PA, 16 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, her sisters, Marjorie Munnal of Sharon, PA, Gloria Hummell of Hermitage, PA, Joyce Garvey and her husband James of Mecca, OH, Norma Root of Sharon, PA along with her brothers, Russell T. "Tom" Root of Sharon, PA, Robert Root of Brookfield, OH, Edward Root and his wife Lucy, of Vienna, OH. Also surviving is her former husband, Ward Evans of Hermitage, PA. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ward Dale Evans Jr., a sister, Rita Evans, and brothers David L. Root, James M. Root Sr., Richard D. Root Sr., and Gerald Root.
At her request, there will be no calling hours. Private services will take place at the convenience of the family. Cremation services provided by the funeral home with burial of her cremains at Haywood Cemetery West Middlesex, PA. Funeral arrangements by the Harold W.
