Shirley Belle Barger
Shirley Belle Barger, of 55 W. Connelly Blvd., Sharon, passed away on Sat, August 1, at 12:29 p.m. in Sharon Regional Health System, after an extended illness. She was 83.
Shirley was born in Sligo, PA on September 13, 1931, the daughter of the late Russell O'dell and Gladys (Smith) Stitt. She graduated in 1949 from Union Joint High School in Clarion County.
She was a former member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, where she had sung in the choir, attended Sunday School, the Women's Bible Study group, and the quilting class. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sharon.
She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Sharon Chapter 242, of Hermitage. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and gardening.
Shirley was the widow of Charles A. Barger. whom she married on Sept. 27, 1952. He died on Feb. 8, 2015. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Sisic, and her husband, David of Farmdale, OH. her sons, Richard Barger, and his wife, Irene, of Sharon, PA, and Randy Barger, and his wife, Paula, of Hermitage, PA along with 13 grandchildren, Patricia Myers, Casey Dunbar, Richelle Barger, Amanda Polite, Erica Dunbar, David Barger, Cindy Sluger, Tammy Sexton, Larry and Chris Spradlin, Matt Sisic, Suzette Holiski, and Paul Sisic, and 19 great grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Betty Wyman, and her husband, Jack, of Emlenton, PA and a brother, Steve Stitt, and his wife, Alice, of the Rimersburg area of PA. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, PA, on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. , with Rev. Terry Shaffer, of the Sharon First United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment at Fair Oaks Cemetery New Wilmington, PA.
