Sheila K. Slingluff, of Hermitage, PA, passed away peacefully in her home on Mon., Feb. 29, 2016, at 10:47 p.m., after an extended illness. She was 69.
She was born in Greenville, PA on February 13, 1947, the daughter of the late Herbert and Virginia (Tate) Valenly. Sheila was a member of the "Class of 65" of Reynolds High School. She went on to graduate from the former Shenango Valley School of Business. She was a member of St. Michael's Church, Greenville, PA.
Sheila had worked as Executive Director of the Greater Sharon Associates Sharon, for 18 years. Previously, she worked at the Herald newspaper in the retail advertising department.
She was a past member of the Sharon Rotary Club. Sheila enjoyed ceramics, flower gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. One of the highlights of her life was visiting the late Sen. Barry Goldwater's home in Scottsdale, AZ. A second highlight was having the opportunity to meet Dr. Phil and his wife Robin.
She was the widow of Dale Slingluff. who died in 2013. Her family includes her daughter, Erin Slingluff of Hermitage, PA, and her son , Christian "Chris" Slingluff, of Neshannock twp., PA and her grandchildren, Sydne and Camryn Slingluff, and Gabriel Slingluff-Wilkins. Also surviving , are her brother, Tate Valenly and his wife, Jackie, of Greenville, PA. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Todd Eric Slingluff, and an infant sister, Susan Coleen Valenly.
Donations in her memory may be made to St. Michael's Church, 85 N. High St., Greenville, PA 16125 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
At her request there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at at St. Michael's Church, Greenville, PA. at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5th, 2016, with Rev. David Foradori and Rev Leo Wehrlin officiating.
Interment at St. Michael's Cemetery, Greenville, PA. Cremation services provided by the funeral home.
