(Ruth) Elaine Munion

(Ruth) Elaine Munion, of Bellefontaine, OH, formerly of Hermitage, PA, went to be with her loving husband, Bill, on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at the Heartland of Bellefontaine after an extended illness. She was 91.
She was born in Rochester Mills, PA on September 21, 1922, the daughter of the late Hugh and Hilda (Doty) Henderson. She and her husband Bill were married on August 23, 1947. He died November 5, 1996.
She had worked as an x-ray technician in the Sharon area., for many years.
As a member of the Sharon 1st United Methodist Church, she was very active , especially serving at funeral and church dinners and church bazaars. Elaine was a Past Matron of Sharon Chapter #242 OES, and Past Watchman of Shepherds in White Shrine #8. She delivered Meals on Wheels for many years and visited area nursing homes on Thursdays delivering fresh baked cookies and flowers to the residents. After moving to Bellefontaine 9 years ago, Elaine became active at the L.C. Friendly Senior Center by volunteering and playing the card game, Hand and Foot. While living in Bellefontaine, she attended the Presbyterian and Methodist churches.
Her survivors include her daughter, Judy Hadley and her husband, Allen, of Bellefontaine, OH, her son, Michael Munion of Mesa, AZ., her grandchildren, Anjanette Hook and her husband, Sam, of Jamestown, OH, AJ Hadley and his wife, Emilie, of Ashtabula, OH, Will Munion and Amanda Munion, of Mesa, AZ, and her great-grandchildren, Alice and Garrett Hook and Logan Hadley. Several cousins also survive. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Sam Henderson, and her sister, Alice Townsend.

Funeral service at Sharon 1st United Methodist Church, Sharon, PA. at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22nd, with Rev. William Townsend, the deceased's nephew officiating. Private burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park Hermitage, PA. Funeral arrangements by the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA.
