Ruth P Cairey

Ruth P. Cairey, of Hermitage, PA, passed away on Sat. Dec. 16, 2017 at 9:50 a.m., in Garden Way Place, after an extended illness. She was 91.
Ruth was born in Farrell, PA on July 30, 1926, the daughter of the late Ellis and Hazel (Smith) Perrine.
She graduated from Farrell High School in 1944.
She married her high school sweetheart, William H. "Bill" Cairey, on Sept. 25, 1948. They were married for 67years until his death on Dec. 26, 2015.
Ruth was a homemaker, who in her younger years, had worked at the former Westinghouse plant in Sharon. She enjoyed cooking, baking, golfing, bowling, bocce ,playing cards and traveling. Ruth was a member of the Hickory United Methodist Church.
Her family includes her two daughters, Candace Bertmeyer of Masury, OH and Gail Cellini and her husband James, of Newark, DE, along with her son, Scott Cairey and his wife Jean, of Carrollton, TX, and five grandchildren, Jacki Rusch and her husband John, Kim Elder and her husband Justin, Luke Cellini, Rachel Cellini, and Michael Andras and his wife Jackie, and her great-grandchildren, Addison and Evan Rusch. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret " Peg" Hanson and Helen Sabo.

A Gathering Time will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, from 4:00- 6:00 p.m. at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 E. State St., Sharon, PA 16146.
A Memorial Service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2nd, with Rev. Frank Hodges officiating. Cremation services provided by the funeral home.
