Roy Harley Erb

Roy Harley Erb, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Sharon, PA, passed away on Jan. 25, 2016, at 8:30 p.m., at Ben Atchley State Veterans Home, in Knoxville, after an extended illness. He was 92.
Mr. Erb was born in Sharon, PA on October 4, 1923, the son of the late Ernest Leslie and Ora Mae (Locke) Erb. He graduated from Sharon High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Roy had worked at at the former Westinghouse Plant Sharon, in the meter repair department for 35 years.
He was a life member of F.& A. M. # 389, Kedron Lodge, West Middlesex, PA. When he lived in this area, he was a HAM radio operator . Roy was of Baptist faith.
His wife, the former Kathryn H. Hollibaugh, whom he married on March 27, 1953, died on Dec. 21, 2005. Roy is survived by his two sons, Dale Erb, and his wife, Sherri, of Hermitage, PA, and Dean Erb, and his wife, Stephanie, of Knoxville, TN, along with his four grandsons, Ryan, Joshua, Ethan, and Cameron Erb. Also surviving are his brother, William Wallace Erb, and his wife, Ellen, of Toledo, OH.
Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Eleanor Harry, Ernestelle Lovelace, Sarah Edith Erb, and Emilyn Keen and his brothers, James Lewis Erb, Maynard Erb, and Leslie Erb.
Friends are invited to call on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, from 2:00 till 5:00 p.m. at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA 16146.
