Rose Marie Mackey

Rose Marie Mackey, of Mercer, formerly of New Castle, PA, passed away on Mon. morning, July 17, 2017, in Avalon Springs Nursing Home in Mercer after an extended illness. She was 81..
Rose Marie was born in Indiana, Pa. on August 4, 1935, the daughter of the late Fred and Marie (O'Brien) Palmer. She was a 1953 graduate of New Castle High School.
She had worked as a customer service representative at Preston Motors in New Castle., for several years.
Rose Marie enjoyed boating and traveling. She was of the Catholic faith.
She was the widow of Ronald Mackey whom she married on Jan. 12, 1965. He died on June 20, 2011. Rose Marie is survived bt her two daughters, Michelle M. Astone and her husband Patrick Astone Jr. of Hermitage, PA. and Cathy Vansovich and her husband John Vansovich Sr., of West Pittsburg, PA, along with her two grandchildren, Candy Bucci and John Vansovich Jr., four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her two sisters, Jean Simons of New Middletown, OH., Theresa Seacrest of Lowellville, OH. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Birosak.
Private family visitation and funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA 16146.
