Rosalie A. (Astone) Delpapa

Rosalie  A (Astone)  DelPapa, of  Sharon, PA, passed away peacefully on  Wed., Feb. 7, 2018, in the Cleveland Clinic after complications from a stroke. She was 85.
Rosalie was born in Sharpsville, PA on July 20, 1932, the daughter of the late Carmelo and Rose (Oliver) Astone. She was a graduate of Sharon High School. She was a long-standing member of Church of the Sacred Heart  in Sharon.
Rosalie had worked as a medical records clerk at Sharon Regional Health System.. Previously, she had worked at the former Peter J. Schmidt Co.
Well-known for being an amazing baker and cook, Rosalie reveled in creating her "goodies"for family events and holidays. She was a loving, giving, independent, and strong-minded mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was fiercely protective and unwaveringly honest, with qualities that made her stand out and make friends wherever she traveled. Growing up with  six sisters and two brothers, nothing meant more to her than her family. On May 18, 1957, she married Edmund "Del" DelPapa. After his death on Aug. 15, 1991, she became a working mother in a time when few were, and with the satisfaction of having a career outside the home forming many friendships.    Rosalie left a lasting legacy of kindness and compassion for her two sons, Ed, of Philadelphia, PA  and Dominic and her daughter-in-law Jenifer, of Denver, CO, her grandson, Bailey Tills, her two sisters, Frances DiFeo and her husband Gary and Gloria Hassel and her husband Albert, all of Sharon, PA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins who were a constant presence in her life. Together, they formed a family that nourished each other wth love, food, and Italian culture.  Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brother, Norman and Joseph Astone  and her sisters, Josephine Gligor, Mary Taub, Ida Marcus, and Jennie Sakony.
The sound of her voice, her laugh, and her energy, with Frank Sinatra singing in the background, she will be missed so much. But when the pain subsides, the overwhelming joy will always remain. We love you Rose!  Donations in her memory may be made to Buhl Park Corp., 715 Hazen Rd., Hermitage, Pa 16148
