Robert W. Fike, Jr, of St. Paul's Homes Greenville, Pa., formerly of Hermitage, Pa, passed away on Friday, April 27th, 2018 at St. Paul's Homes, Greenville Pa..
Born February 22nd, 1925 he was the son of the late Robert W. Sr. and Edna Mae Orr Fike. He married the former Dorthy M. Hetson on September 11, 1948 and she preceded him in death on September 10th, 2011.
Robert was a 1948 graduate of Sharon High School and after high scnool he joined the U.S. Navy where he served as a Boatswain Mate. He served in the Navy ten years and was on the LST 494 in France & Normandy and also in the Pacific and Okinawa. Upon his discharge from the Navy he went to work for Westinghouse as a Fork Lift Operator for 38 years until he retired in 1984. He also was a Buss Driver for Bortner Tours for 24 years.
Robert was a memeber for 35 years at the Oakland Ave. United Methodist Church in Sharon and is currently a member of Hickory United Methodist Church where he served as a former Administrative Board Trustee, and served on the Finance Committee and Endowment Fund Committee. He was also a member of Hermitage Lodge # 810, F&AM where he just recieved his 60 year pin, Scottish Rite, Valley of New Castle and Hickory VFW #6166. Bob loved the outdoors especially hunting and was a member of National Campers and Travelers Association.
Survivors include his son Dennis R. Fike and his wife Vicki of Hermitage, Pa., five grandchildren Jennifer Prezgay, Justin Fike, Scott Shafer, Brittany Kohl and Taylor O'Brien and 2 great-grandchildren Isaiah Prezgay and Emery Prezgay.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a daughter Darlene Shafer.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 30th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home LLC. 264 E. State St. Sharon Pa. 16146. A Masonic Service will be held at 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday from the funeral home at 11:00 am with the Rev. David Evans officiating. Burial will follow in America's Cemetery. Military honors will be performed by the Sharon Honor Guard.

The faamily would like to thank Dr. Listopad, the nurses and staff at St. Paul's Homes and Southern Care hospice for the wonderful care they provided Robert.
