Robert H. "Bob" Meyer, of 2789 Rutledge Rd., Transfer, PA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on Thurday, June 20, 2013 at 4:25 p.m. after a brief illness. He was 81.
Bob was born in Sharon, PA on November 3, 1931, the son of the late William F. and Ruth A. (Johnson) Meyer. He was a 1949 graduate of Sharpsville High School. Bob served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1962.
He was a member of Zion's United Church of Christ in Transfer, PA., where he had served as an elder. Bob had worked as general foreman in quality inspection at the former Sharon Steel for 43 years retiring in 1992.
He was an arborist and master gardener, planting a lifetime of flowers for his wife. Bob was a beekeeper and was a member of the Trumbull County Beekeepers Association, the International Willow Collectors, the Reynolds VFW Post 7599, and was a life member of the Transfer VFD. He enjoyed being outdoors ,hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, the former Barbara L. (Pinch) Meyer whom he married on May 6, 1956 along with his six daughters, Brenda L. Kaye and her husband, George, of Richmond Heights, OH, Barbara R. "Pete" Hoch and her husband, John, of Transfer, PA, Beverly J. Meyer and her life partner, Tracey Johnson, of Shawnee, KS, Betty Jo Walker and her husband, Bill, of Pikeville, TN, Becky L. Ague, and her husband, Tim, and Bonnie S. O'Brien and her husband, Stephen, all of Sharpsville, PA. Also surviving are his sister, Mary Cruz and her husband, Wenc, of South Miami, FL along with 13 grandchildren and his faithful companion, Brooke, the bulldog. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Broemer and Eleanor Songer and four brothers, Bill, Jack, Charles, and Don Meyer.

Friends are invited to call Tuesday, June 25, 2013, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA 16146
Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, PA. at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26th, with Pastor Phyllis Nevin, Supply Pastor of Zion's Church officiating. Military honors at the funeral home will be provided by the Reynolds VFW Post 7599.
Cremation services provided by the funeral home.
