Richard 'Dick' J. Jewell

It's hard to describe my husband, Dick, in few words. Two of the many things I love about him are his kindness & his wonderful, infectious laugh. The things he loves most are our Lord, our family and our country.

He was raised on a dairy farm with his dad 'Dutch', mom Atlanta and his brothers & sisters. He went to Mercer Area School District. And still today he has friends that made his childhood a time of many fond memories.

He served in the United States Marine Corps for six years where he also attended journeyman's school at Penn State. Those years in the Corps he met friends that became brothers for a lifetime.

He married me his wife,  Jeanette, on 06 September 1981; Forty-three too short of years. We cherish our children, Brandy Sunshine and Jacob.

We continued dairy farming for a shorter time than wanted while farming always remained what was in his heart. He then began truck driving in order to care for his family. There he met many friends that brought him such joy it made all the miles and the exhaustion worthwhile. He would come home with such wonderful stories he shared with me.

We were so looking forward to sitting in our rocking chairs on the porch watching the sun come up through the trees…he's gone home with our Lord and a piece of my heart…
