Patricia Allen Gross, of Hermitage, PA. formerly of Sharon, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, December 9, 2018, after a brief illness.
Pat was born July 21, 1928, to the late William K. and Opal E.(Weaver) Allen of Sharon.
She was a 1946 graduate of Sharon High School and for many years kept the records of class member's contact information and helped in planning reunions. After graduation she worked for Westinghouse. Pat was employed by First National Bank, Hermitage, for more than 20 years and retired from the Purchasing Department in 1995.
She married Daniel F. Gross on September 9, 1947, and he preceded her in death on September 9, 1975.
An active member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Sharon, for more than 70 years, Pat served on the Vestry and Alter Guild. For many years, she input data entry records for the Episcopal Church Women Food Bank and served on the bereavement committee.
Pat was a talented painter in oils and filled her home and gifted others her landscapes, still-life and wildlife canvases. She will be missed by Cleo, the last in a long line of faithful feline companions.
Pat is survived by two daughters, Karen Mitch (James) of Beaver Falls, PA, and Patricia Chintella of Greenwood, DE; two sons, Daniel W. Gross of Littleton, CO; and Jeffrey A. Gross of Farrell; three grandchildren, Eric J. Mitch of Palm City, FL, Andrew M. Mitch (Elizabeth) of Beaver Falls, PA, and Alex Chintella of Alexandria, VA; one great-grandchild, Brailynn, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in -law, William W. and Darlene K. Allen of Elizabethtown, KY.
Visitation will be held on Friday, from 4:00 pm til 7:00 pm at the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home LLC, 264 E. State Street, Sharon, PA, 16146. A Requiem Mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at St. John's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Dr. Adam Trambley, rector, as celebrant. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Internment will be in America's Cemetery, Hermitage, Pa.
The family wishes to thank Pat's private caregivers and Sharon Regional Hospice for their compassionate care over the past few weeks.
