Pamela D. Hassell, The Ridgewood, of 1 Elston Way Hermitage, passed away on Wed., Nov 19, 2014 at 9:35 a.m. St. Paul's Continuing Care Community, Greenville, PA , after complications from a stroke. She was 86.
Pamela was born in Greenville, PA on December 29, 1927, the daughter of the late Gladys (Freeland) Frye. She was a 1946 graduate of Sharon High School.
She was an active member of Central Christian Church Hermitage, PA., serving in many capacities including being a deacon and a former choir member.
She had worked as personel specialist at J.C. Penney Hermitage, PA, for 20 years. In her younger years, she had worked at Calvert Lumber in Sharon.
Pamela enjoyed traveling, golfing, and music. She loved family times and making people laugh.
She was the widow of Harold M. Hassell. whom she married on Nov. 24, 1951. He died on October 1, 2003.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Peoples and her husband, David, of Warren, OH, Patty Platterborze and her husband, Francis, "Fritz", of Sharpsville, PA.and a son, Robert Hassell and his wife, Angie, of Tulsa, OK along with four grandchildren, Kelly and Katie Peoples, Phillip and Dillon Hassell and four step-grandchildren, Dee King, Mark Platterborze and Nathan and Corina Bauer. Also surviving are two sisters, Jean Daugherty of N. Canton, OH and Helen Richards of Houston, TX. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her half-sister, Geraldine "Gerri" Carson and two half-brothers, Robert and Charles Frye.

Friends are invited to call Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, from 4:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA 16146.
Funeral service at Central Christian Church, Hermitage, PA. at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 29th, with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Moore officiating. Interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park Hermitage, PA.
