Michael H. Rogers Sr., of Sharon, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 8:42 p.m. in Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. He was 74..
Michael was born in Sharon, PA on April 13, 1939, the son of the late Harold C. and Helen (VanDyke) Rogers. He was a 1960 graduate of Sharon High School. He was of the Protestant faith.
He had worked as a roll grinder at the former Sharon Steel,in Farrell, PA. He had also worked in security for the fomer Valley View Department Store in Brookfield.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra Rogers of Sharon,PA his two sons, Michael H. Rogers Jr. and his wife, Kari, of Wichita, KS, and Mark A. Rogers and his wife, Krista, of Hermitage, PA along with his grandchildren, Katie Rogers, M. Dean Rogers, Ethan and Gavin Rogers, and a great-granddaughter, Lilly Durant. Also surviving are his former wife and caregiver, Darla Rogers, and two sisters, Mary Nichy of Sharon, and Eleanore Gory and her husband, Elliott, of Florida. Besides his parents, he was preceeded in death by his grandson, Jacob Rogers.
There are no calling hours. Services are private at the convenience of family. Cremation will take place.
