Michael G. "Mickey" Bolt

Michael G. "Mickey" Bolt, of Transfer, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 4, 2016, in the emergency room at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville after becoming ill while walking. He was 63.
Michael was born in Sharon, PA on March 3, 1953, the son of the late Thomas Bennett Bolt Sr. and Mary Jane (Lyons) Bolt. He was a 1971 graduate of Hickory High School, a 1975 graduate of Mansfield State College of PA, and then went on to earn his Master's Degree in Student Personel from Slippery Rock University.
He was a member of Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, PA., where he was active in the Sunday Small Religious Group. He was a technician at United Steelworkers Union, Local 3657, for last 4 years. Previously, he had worked for the Alliance of American Manufacturing, and for Wheatland Tube.
Mickey was very community minded and was involved in several organizations including the Mercer Chamber of Commerce, Greenville Elks Lodge, a lifetime member of the Mercer County Historical Society, a member of the Mercer County Labor Council, the Northwest Democrats, the Knights of Columbus, and was a board member of the Shenango Valley Conservancy being involved each year with the "Gobble Wobble Race". He was an avid reader, a huge Union supporter, and a traveler, having visited all 50 states. He loved sports of all kinds, especially baseball and the Cleveland Indians, and truly enjoyed times spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta "Bobbie" A (Taylor) Bolt, whom he married on Oct. 14, 1972. She survives at home in Transfer, his daughter, Jennifer L. Bolt , at home, his sister, Barbara Bolt, of Winchester, KY, his brother, Thomas B. Bolt Jr. and his wife, Ella, of McCormick, SC, along with numerous nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Forrest Agee.

Friends are invited to call Sunday, July 10, 2016, from 2:00 till 6:00p.m. at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA 16146.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, PA 16148. at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 11th . ( If desired, friends may go directly to the church) . Interment at St. Rose Cemetery Hermitage, PA.
