Mary A. Mihalson

Mary A. Mihalson, age 93, of Hospitality Care Center, Hermitage, but formerly of Wilson Street, Sharon, died Sunday, July 31st, 2011 at 1:15 a.m. at Hospitality Care Center after an extended illness. Mrs. Mihalson was born in Farrell, PA on December 17, 1917, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Stredney)Bailey. On March 9, 1932, she married Andrew R. Mihalson Sr. He died in 2008. Mary enjoyed cooking, gardening, and being a homemaker. In her younger years, she had worked at the former American Laundry in Sharon. She was of the Lutheran faith. Her survivors include a daughter, Deanna Van Pelt, two sons, Andrew R. "Sunny" Mihalson Jr. and his wife Sheila of Wheatland, Pa and Kevin Mihalson of Sharon along with 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceeded in death by three daughters, Joan Sposito, Mary Ellen Love, and Theresa Blackburn. At the family's request there will be no visitation. Graveside commital service will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, in Sharon with Rev. Charles Eckles of IHS Gospel Ministries officiating.
