Mary Locnikar

Mary Locnikar, of Boca Raton, FL, formerly of Woodland Avenue, Sharon, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. in Manor Care, Boca Raton, FL, after an extended illness. She was 92.
Mary was born in Farrell, PA, on October 8, 1921, the daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Hloda) Opavsky. She was a 1940 graduate of Farrell High School and had worked as secretary and clerk at the former A & P Supermarket in Sharon., for 26 years.
Mary was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Hermitage, PA, and was a very active member of the Dorcas Society of the church. She was a member of the Slovak Evangelical Union, #62. Mary loved to bake and was known for her "Easter Bread". She always enjoyed the times she spent with her family and friends.
She was the widow of Rudolph "Rudy" G. Locnikar. whom she married on March 2, 1946. He died in 1978. She is survived by two daughters, Aleta L. Kudelko, and her husband, John of West Middlesex, PA and Janice Barella of Boynton Beach, FL, two grandsons, Johnathan R. Kudelko and his wife, Sarah, of Hermitage, PA and John Ross Barella, of Boynton Beach, FL and two great-grandsons, Johnathan W. and Carson R. Kudelko. Several nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews also survive. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Mytych and two brothers, Martin and Paul Opavsky.
Donation in her memory may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 3325 Morefield Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.
Friends are invited to call Friday, March 14, 2014 from 4-7:00 p.m. at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home , 264 East State Street, Sharon, PA 16146 and on Saturday, March 15, from 1:00-1:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, in Hermitage. .
Funeral service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hermitage, PA. at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 15th, 2014 with Rev. Gary B. Nelson, Pastor, officiating. Interment at Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery Hermitage, PA.
