Mary Alexia (Barovich) Charsar, 96, of Sharpsville, PA died Friday, August 12, 2011 at 10:33 a.m. in Sharon Regional Health System, after a brief illness. Mary was born in Sharpsville, PA on December 23, 1914, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Sintal) Barovich. She was a homemaker who during WWII had worked at the former Westinghouse Plant in Sharon. She was a lifetime member of St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church in Sharpsville and had been a member of the former Altar Rosary Society of the church. Mary enjoyed vegetable gardening, baking, canning, and collecting cook books. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was the widow of George Charsar Sr., who she married in 1935. He died on August 30, 1979. She is survived by her two daughters, Eileen Steibly and her husband, Tom, of Sharpsville and Marie Flickinger, of Mercer, Pa and her two sons, George Charsar Jr. and Michael W. Charsar Sr., both of Hermitage, PA. Also survivng are 5 grandchildren, Michael William Charsar, Abigail Charsar,Ryan Charsar, Britany Charsar, and Nichole Thier and her husband, Mike along with her great-grandaughter, Brooklyn Thier. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceeded in death by her son, Willam Charsar and 5 brothers, Jerry, Sylvester, Alfonson, Cyril, and Joseph Barovich. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church, 311 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, PA 16150. Friends are invited to call on Monday, August 15, 2011 from 4:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State Street, Sharon, PA 16146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church in Sharpsville on Tuesday August 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev Marc Stockton of the church officiating. Funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 10:40 a.m. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hermitage, PA.
