Martha K. Butler

Martha K. Butler, of 2400 Garden Way, Hermitage, PA, formerly of Meadowbrook Road,Hermitage passed away peacefully at 11:07 on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, in Bentley House in Hermitage, after an extended illness. She was 99.
Martha was born in Roaring Spring, PA on June 1, 1914, the daughter of the late Leo and Sarah (Kagarise) Garber. She was a graduate of Roaring Spring High School.
Martha had been an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Sharon, She was a member of the United Methodist Womens Group.
In her younger years, she had worked at the former Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric in Sharon. Martha was an avid bowler, golfer, and bridge player. She was a lifetime member of the local Order of the Eastern Star, and played piano at her church and for the Eastern Star meetings.
She was the widow of Donald R. Butler who died on Feb. 15, 1976. Her survivors include three nephews, Dick Hite and his wife, Phylis, of Wilmington, DE, Jim Brown and his wife, Rhea, of New Hope, PA, and Thomas Brown and his wife, Karen, of St. Marys, PA. Also surviving are 5 great nieces and great nephews along with a great-great niece and great- great nephew. Being the last of her siblings, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther Hite and Eleanor Brown and two brothers, Edwin and John Garber.

Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, PA. at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22nd, with Rev. Terry Shaffer, Pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park Hermitage, PA.
