Marilyn L Dickey

Marilyn L. Dickey, of Sharon, PA, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System, after an extended illness. She was 69.
Marilyn was born in Sharon, PA on November 16, 1947, the daughter of the late Stanley Buchanan Sr. and Helen (Bergstrom) Buchanan. She was a 1965 graduate of Sharon High School and served her country in the U.S. Army from 1966 - 1969.
She had worked as a cook at various area restaurants. Marilyn was a member of the Shenango Valley VFW Post #1338 and the Sharon American Legion Post 299. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Sharon 1st United Methodist Church.
She married Willie P. Dickey on March 29, 1969. He survives her at home. Also surviving are her two daughters, Sonya McClimans of Greenville, PA and Chrissi Belotti and her husband Bob of of Masury, OH, her grandchildren, Cassie Sherry, Joshua "LT" Thompson and his fiance', Cassie Porterfield, and Kevin Thompson and his wife, Sierra, 2 great-grandchildren, Camden and Addalyn Thompson, two sisters, Carol Ligotti and her husband Joe , of Youngstown, OH, Tracy Buchanan of Oceanside, CA, three bothers, Carl Buchanan and his wife Teresa, of Bristol, TN, Donald Buchanan and his wife Carol, of Sharon, PA., Leslie Buchanan and his wife Nancy of West Middlesex, PA. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Buchanan, and her brothers, Stanley "Skip" Buchanan Jr. and Kenneth Buchanan.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Mercer Co. Chapter 55, c/ o 719 Patricia Ave., Hermitage, PA 16148.
A Memorial Service at will be held at Shenango Valley Baptist Church, 40 S. Neshannock Rd., Hermitage, PA on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at Noon, with Rev. Philip Cooper officiating. Cremation and funeral services by the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA
