Lillian Floyd Gilbert, , of 500 Clarksville Rd., Hermitage, formerly of Edgewood Drive, Sharon, PA passed away on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at 4:30 p.m. at Nugent Convalescent Home in Hermitage after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 87
Lillian was born in Portsmouth, VA on September 26, 1927, the daughter of the late Ernest and Julia (Coombs) Floyd. After graduating high school, she moved to Pittsburgh, PA, to attend art school. It was there she met her husband, Joseph E. Gilbert whom she married in 1946. They moved to Sharon in 1976. As well as being a homemaker, she was an accomplished singer and sang locally at East Side Church in the choir, and with the Shenango Valley Chorale. She was a member of East Side Church in Sharon. Lillian loved music and it was a large part of her life .
Surviving are her husband Joseph, of Hermitage, and her three daughters, Cristeena Naser and her husband, Ken, of Alexandria, VA, Julie Midcap and her husband, Steve, of Morrison, CO, and Laura Peretic, and her husband, David, of Masury, OH, and a son, Michael Gilbert and his wife Beth, of North Royalton, OH and her greatest joy, her grandchildren, Jennifer Naser Sirici, Corrine Naser, Benjamin Midcap, Andrea Midcap Dahl, Andrew and Kevin Peretic, Carley Gilbert and Michael J. Gilbert. and a great-granddaughter, Avery Paige Midcap. Also surviving are her sister, Ann Riley, of Port Orchard, WA, and a brother, Ernest Floyd, of Portsmouth, VA. Seven dear nieces and nephews also survive. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Gilbert, and a sister, Elizabeth Broda.

Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, PA. at Noon on Wednesday, January 7th, with Rev. Craig Thompson, pastor of East Side Church officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery Hermitage, PA.
