Lila A. Savage, age 88, of Farrell, PA, went to be with her Lord, on Monday, August 19, 2024.
Born May 21, 1936 in Pulaski, VA, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Stella (Hayden) Moyer. She married Anderson Savage in July of 1956 and he preceded her in death on September 22, 1997.
Lila was a 1955 graduate of Farrell High School and attended both Liberty University and Edinboro College, Farrell Branch.
Her employment career was as a Supervisor for the YMCA in Hermitage, PA, a driver for the Mercer County Area on Aging Department of Transportation and a supervisor for Chore Service Program.
Lila liked helping people, she loved going to church, taking long walks talking to God, good singing and watching the children play. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ in Farrell, where she sang in the choir, was a mother of the church, former cook and did the welcome address under Bishop Otis Alexander and Bishop Wilbert Hadden.
Surviving are three daughters, Darlene Savage, of Wichita, KS, Lila Savage-Wright of Farrell, PA, and Lanai Savage – Thomas (Bernard) of Myrtle Beach, SC, a son Anderson Z. Savage, of Farrell, PA, a brother Freddie Moyer (Cordelia), of Columbus, OH, thirty grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two sons Le-Clyia and Leonard Savage, a brother Franklin Moyer, a sister, Florence Scott, son-in-law, Rudolph Wright and grandchildren, Gary and Colby Hopson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Greater Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ, (1825 Roemer Blvd. Farrell, Pa, 16121). A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM in the church with the Rev. Tyrone Steals officiating. Burial will be in Morefield Cemetery.
