Karen Hopkins Carnes

Karen Hopkins Carnes, age 64 of  Mercer Pa., passed away on Monday, April 9th, 2018 in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh Pa.. Born April, 22, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Luella Bordt Hopkins. She married James Carnes on June, 27, 1975 and he survives in Mercer Pa.
Karen graduated from Grove City college with honors ,where she majored in Psychology and Sociology with a minor in Education. She loved gardening, weaving with a loom and was an accomplished pianist. She was a homemaker and a member of Queen of Holy Rosary Church in Vienna Ohio.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a sister Grace Hopkins-Eastman and her husband Brad of Wheatland Pa.  a brother Roy Hopkins and Adrienne Hughes of Spencerport NV. and two nephews Robert and John Eastman of Wheatland Pa..
Visitation will be held on Friday April 13th from 2:00pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home LLC 264 E. State Street Sharon Pa. 16146. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 Pm Friday at the Funeral Home.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at Queen of Holy Rosary Church in Vienna Ohio with Fr. Denis Bouchard officiating, everyone is to meet at the church. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery
