Julia M. "Sheila" Christy, of Sharon, PA , passed away on Monday, Jan 7, 2013, at 2:25 a.m. in SharonRegional Health System after an extended illness. She was 84.
She was born in Boston, MA on April 3, 1928, the daughter of the late Bartholomew and Eleanor (Sweeney) Clements. Sheila was a 1945 graduate of Hyde Park (MA) High School. She had worked as operator at New England Telephone & Telegraph for in her younger years.She had also worked in the scheduling office at the U.S. Navy Regional Medical Facility in Okinawa, Japan and also as an operator for the Civil Service many years ago.
Sheila was a mamber of the Navy Relief and Marine Corp. Society and had recently been honored for serving over 150,000 hours as a volunteer. She enjoyed traveling, knitting and crocheting. and was of the Catholic faith.
She was the wife of Albert "Gene" Christy, whom he married on Sept. 19, 1962. He survives in Sharon.
Also survivng are her sister, Anne Evangelista and her husband, James, of North Easton, MA. Severla nieces and nephews also survive. Besides her parents, she was preceeded in death by her six sisters, Honora, Ethel, Eleanor, Veronica, Genevieve, and Edna.
