Julia M. Clyde, age 98, of Hermitage, PA, passed away on Monday, July 8,2024, at St. Paul's Senior Living Center in Greenville, Pa.

Julia was born May 29, 1926, in Sharon, PA, the daughter of the late Martin and Magdalena (Manchus) Bakunas and was proud of her Lithuanian Heritage. She married Thomas H. Clyde in 1953 and he preceded her in death on June 10, 1984.

A 1944 graduate of Sharon High School, Julia spent most of her employment career as a purchasing agent for Wheatland Tube, retiring in 1989 after more than 30 years of service.

Julia was a member of the former Sacred Heart Church in Sharon, Pa. In her spare time, she liked to cook, watch cooking shows on television, do crossword puzzles, play cards and raise her cat.  Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, David W. Clyde, of Nashville, TN, and Daniel T. Clyde (Maria), of Saybrook, OH, two grandchildren, Thomas Clyde (Beth), of North Royalton, OH, and Samantha Reilly (Jeff), of N. Canton, OH, six great-grandchildren, Landon, Lila and Leo Clyde and Mia Reilly and her brothers Parker and Carter Reilly, and three special nephews Ed, Paul and Brian Bakunas.

Julia was preceded in death by a daughter, Jody Edgar, two brothers, Edward and Bernard Bakunas, a sister, Helen Lucas, a niece, Marilyn Lucas Hosick and a nephew Benny Bakunas.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home LLC, 264 E. State Street, Sharon, Pa. 16146. A blessing service will follow at 4:00 PM in the funeral home with Fr. Glenn Whitman Officiating. Private burial will take place Monday in St. Mary's Cemetery.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at The Ridgewood at Shenango Valley for the exemplary care that they gave to Julia and her cat Ruby for the ten years that they lived there. They also want to thank the staff at St. Paul's Senior Living Center for their care and kindness for the short time she was there.
