Josephine A. Doll Smith, age 89, of Hermitage formerly of Sharon Pa., passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Grove in New Wilmington.
Born in Youngstown, Ohio on September 21, 1928, She was the daughter of the late John C. and Effie (Whitton) Doll. She married James H. Smith on March 17th, 1947 and he preceded her in death on 1981.
She had worked as a secretary at Thompson Insurance Agency Sharon., and as a receptionist at the Shenango Valley Senior Center. She had also worked at the former Asparagus Patch Gift Boutique.
She was a member of IHS Gospel Ministries Hermitage, PA 16146.
She had been active in Al-Anon Tuesday night group over the years. The day before she passed, her daughter Cindy, took to Daffin's Candy for her chocolates and cooked her a steak dinner. Afterwards, she said "I can die happy now."
She is survived by two daughters, Linda J. Reinhart and her husband David of Niles, Ohio and Cindy S. Davis of West Middlesex, Pa., six grandchildren, Jason, Jamie and Abi Reinhart, Brandy Fair, Rob Davis and Jimmy Smith III and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son James H. II and five brothers and one sister.
A gathering time will be held on Sunday, August 26th, 2018 from 1:00 pm til 3:00 pm at the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home LLC, 264 E. State Street, Sharon, Pa., 16146. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm in the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Eckles, pastor of IHS Gospel Ministries, officiating. Burial will be in Brookfield Cemetery.
