Joseph Paul "Jake" Cannone, of Hermitage, formerly of Farrell, PA, passed away on Sat., Dec. 10, 2016, at 5:35 p.m., in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell. He was 91.
Jake was born in Sharon, PA on April 28, 1925, the son of the late Angelo and Mary (Petrillo) Cannone.
He graduated from Farrell High School.
He had worked as shop steward and union representative at the former Sharon Steel before his retirement.
Jake was a U.S. Army veteran having fought in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII. He was a member of the Farrell VFW and enjoyed going to the horse races, gardening, and playing cards. In his younger years, he played softball. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima/St. Ann's Church in Farrell
He is survived by his brother, Frank Cannone, of Sharon, PA, his sister-in-law, Geri Cannone, of Farrell, PA, along with several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his four sisters, Rose Adams, Jenny Vukovich, Carmelina Matika, and Eleanor DelliQuadri and his brothers, Mike and Nick Cannone.

Friends are invited to call on Tues., Dec. 13, 2016, from 4:00 till 6:00 p.m. at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA 16146.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14th at St. Joseph's Church in Sharon with Rev. Thomas Whitman officiating. Burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Sharon.
