Joseph Abrey "Joe" Hutley, of Butler, formerly of Logan Ave., Sharon, PA, passed away peacefully in Saxony Heath Center, Saxonburg, PA on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at 3:25 a.m. after an extended illness. He was 86.
Mr. Hutley was born in Sharpsville, Pa on January 1, 1926, the son of the late Percy Leonard and Carrie Mae (Onions) Hutley. He was a 1944 graduate of Sharon High School. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Sharon, serving on various committees over the years.
He had worked as a mechanic & motor repairman at the former Leyde Automotive in Sharon & Hermitage. until his retirement. Joe was an avid sports fan watching and attending many college football games. He also bowled in many area leagues and was a golfer. He had been a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program.
He was the husband of Arlene "Lin" E. (Thorn) Hutley. whom he married on Jan. 12, 1952. She survives at home. Also surviving are his two sons, Paul L. Hutley and his fiance', Kathy Vandersyde, of Butler, PA., James E. Hutley and his wife, Doris,of Camphill, PA. Besides his parents, he was preceeded in by two brothers, William W. and Edward W. Hutley.
Donations in his memory may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, or to the Meals on Wheels program, both located at 369 Buhl Blvd., Sharon, PA 16146
Friends are invited to call Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, from noon until 1:00p.m.. at Christ Lutheran Church,in Sharon.
Funeral service at Christ Lutheran Church, Sharon, PA on Saturday at 1:00p.m.. with Rev. Ronald Hartman officiating. Interment at Riverside Cemetery, in Sharpsville , PA.
