John George Wasko, of Sandy Lake, PA, formerly of Wheatland, passed away on Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, in his residence after a brief illness. He was 65.
John was born in Sharon, PA on October 16, 1951, the son of the late Frank and Inez (Settle) Wasko.
He was a 1969 graduate of Sharon High School and went on to serve his country by serving in the U.S. Army, being stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.
John had worked as a maintenance person at the former Greenwood Pharmacy in Sharon, Being mechanically inclined, he loved to fix things. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and metal detecting. In his younger years, he like to play the harmonica.
John is survived by his son, John G. Wasko Jr. and his wife Jenifer, of Diamond, OH, and his grandchildren, Elaina Wasko, John Wasko III, and Luke Wasko. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Wasko.
At his request there will be no calling hours or services. Interment was at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Jefferson twp., PA. Funeral arrangements by the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon.
