John Susko

John Susko, of Hermitage,PA, formerly of Sharon, passed away on Monday, Sept 21, 2015 at 7:20 a.m. in Nugent CCRC, Hermitage, after a brief illness. He was 96.
John was born in Washington, PA on April 11, 1919, the son of the late Michael and Mary (Magera) Susko. Growing up, he attended Brookfield Schools.
He had worked as a core builder at former Westinghouse Plant in Sharon,, for 38 years, retiring in 1980.
John was a member of the Westinghouse Retirees Association. Enjoying fishing and hunting, he especially enjoyed spending time with his family at the cabin he built in Kennerdell, PA . John was always very helpful to his neighbors, family and friends. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He was the widower of Evelyn (Carrier) Susko. whom he married on May 6, 1946. She died on Jan. 25, 2001. He is survived by his daughter, Margaret "Margo" Morford, and her husband, Don, of Sharon, PA, his sons, John "Jack" M Susko, and his wife, Kathi, of Warren, OH., Gary M. Susko of Sharon, PA, Dale G. Susko, of Brookfield, OH, and David J. Susko, of Hubbard, OH, and a grandson, D.J. Susko and his wife , Courtney, and a great-granddaughter, Sophie Susko. Also surviving are his sister, Eileen Vasko, of Wisconsin, and his brother, Pete Susko, of West Middlesex, PA. Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Olga Pritchard, and his brothers, Dan, Andy, Charles, Paul, Frank. Nick, and Mike Susko.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Nugent's CCRC, for their care and compassion this past year. He greatly appreciated receiving meals from the Meals on Wheels Program, 396 Buhl Blvd., Sharon, PA . Donations in his memory may be made to them if so desired.
Friends are invited to call Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, from 5:00 -6:00 p.m., at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 E. State St., Sharon, PA 16146.
Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, PA. at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept 24th, with Rev. Henry C. Andrae, of Sacred Heart Church officiating. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, PA
