John C. Robb

John C. Robb, formerly of  Longview Road, Hermitage, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2014, at 7:15 a.m. in O'Brien Memorial Health Care Center, Masury, OH after an extended illness. He was 91.
John was born in Argentine, PA on January 31, 1923, the son of the late Howard C. and Elizabeth (Young) Robb. He was a 1940 graduate of Hickory High School and then served in the U.S. Army as a Technician 5th Grade in WW II, earning  two bronze stars, and the  good conduct and victory  medals.
John was a 50 plus year member of Covenant  Presbyterian Church where he had served on two pastor nominating committees, and as a deacon and elder. He had been a member of the Couplers Sunday school class. He had worked as a painters helper at the former Westinghouse  in Sharon., for 40 years retiring in 1981.  John enjoyed reading books ,writing, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
On May 16, 1946, he married Catherine Mae (Frazier) Robb.  She died Nov. 6, 1992.  He is survived by his daughter,  Jonine Flowers and her husband, Gary, of Sharpsville,PA, and a son, Craig F. Robb and his wife, Judy, of New Symyrna Beach, FL, along with three grandsons, Aaron, Andrew, and Edwin Flowers, two sisters,  Marion Leggatt of Mercer,PA., Joan Kilgore of Niles, OH. Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Ella who died in 1967, and a brother, Howard J. Robb.
Donations in his memory may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 263 East State St., Sharon, PA 16146.
Friends are invited to call   Thursday 4:00-7:00p.m. at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St, Sharon, PA  and on Friday one hour prior to services at Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Funeral service at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Sharon, PA 16146  at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 25th,  with Rev. Dr. Terry Mann officiating. Military Honors will be presented at the church by the Farrell VFW Post 5286,The West Middlesex VFW  Post 6233, & Wheatland American Legion Post 432 Honor Guard.
