John J. Homa, of 376 Watson Street Sharon, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 17, 2013 in his residence, after a brief illness. He was 65.
Mr. Homa was born in Sharon, PA on October 8, 1948, the son of the late John and Eva A. (Sawickey) Homa. He was a 1966 graduate of Sharon High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
John had worked as maintenance person at Quaker Steak & Lube in Sharon, PA., for over 5 years. Previously he had worked at the former Westinghouse Plant in Sharon and at the former Valley View Store in Brookfield, Ohio. John enjoyed cooking and was an avid fisherman. He was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by his sister, Ann McKnight and her husband, Grover, a niece, Corina Trowbridge and her husband, Denny and their daughter, Zoey Ann Trowbridge, and a nephew, Charles McKnight, all of Hermitage, PA. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul F. Homa.

At his request there will be no calling hours. Services are private on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA with Rev. Casimer Bogniak of St. Joseph's Church officiating Cremation services provided by the funeral home with burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hermitage, PA.
