John R. Fox Jr.

John R. Fox, Jr.       John R. Fox Jr. , age 71, of Portersville, PA. passed away on Monday, May 21st, 2018 at his residence. Born May 27th, 1946 in Pittsburgh Pa., he was the son of the late John R. Fox Sr. and Betty Lake and her husband Oran Poff. He married the former Bonita Salsgiver on July 8th, 1994 and she survives at home.
John was a graduate of Shaler High School and recieved his Associates Degree from New Kensington College. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War as a Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class. John worked as a security officer for West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa., and prior to that was a self-employed truck driver.
John liked to ride motorcycles, shoot pool and play x-box games with his grandkids.
Survivors include one daughter Betty Salsgiver and two sons Michael and his wife Susan Salsgiver and James Fox, all of Sharon, Pa. and 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by one brother James Fox.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00  pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home LLC, 264 E. State Street, Sharon, Pa., 16416. A grave side service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Haywood Cemetery in West Middlesex.
