Joan P. Gross, Hermitage, PA, formerly of S. Pymatuning twp., passed away peacefully on Sat., Sept. 5, 2015, at 2:15 p.m., at John XXII Home, Hermitage, after an extended illness,. She was 86.
Joan was born in Sharon, PA on January 17, 1929, the daughter of the late Francis Thomas and Mabel (O'Hare) Farrelly. She was a 1947 graduate of Sharon High School.
Joan was a member of Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, PA. She was a former member of the former Altar Rosary Society of St. Bartholomew's Church.
She loved playing cards and was an avid bridge player. Being a homemaker, Joan enjoyed entertaining friends and family at her home.
She was the wife of Thomas V. Gross, whom she married on October 9, 1948. He survives her in Hermitage. Also surviving are her daughters, Susan Marx, of Norfolk, VA, and Cynthia Kautzman, and her husband, Larry, of S. Pymatuning twp., PA, her sons, John "Jack" Gross, and his wife, Debbie, of Norfolk, VA, Thomas "Tommy" Gross, and his wife, Olivia, of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Richard Gross, and his wife, Andrea, of S. Pymatuning twp., PA, William "Bill" Gross, and his wife, Christina, of Burghill, OH along with her 10 grandchildren, Melanie East, Sarah Pifer, Steven Marx, Sheila Farr, Emily Gross, Courtney Vincelette, Michelle Teri, David, Mackenzie, and Bryce Gross, and her four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Rachel, Abram Pifer and Scarlett Marx. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith Ann Gross, and her brother, Thomas Farrelly.

A Mass of Christian Burial at Church of Notre Dame, in Hermitage. at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 11th. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage, PA.
