Jennie Louise Solida

Jennie Louise Solida, age 98, of Mercer, PA, but formerly of Farrell, Hermitage and Rimersburg, PA, passed away peacefully at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 in Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness.
Mrs. Solida was born in Morgantown, WV on August 8, 1913, the daughter of the late Lloyd J. and Sadie (Young) Zinn. She attended Ford City (PA) Schools. Jennie was a member of the West Middlesex United Methodist Church and had worked at the former G.C. Murphy store in Sharon for a few years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, traveling, watching baseball games on TV and reading.
She was the widow of Ralph H. Solida. whom she married on Sept. 24, 1932. He died in 1975. Her surivors include her two daughters, Elizabeth A. "Arlene" Christoff and her husband, Don, of Sharpsville,PA, Sylvia J. Heath and her husband, Lyle of Paradise Valley, AZ, and two sons, Ralph Solida and his wife, Susan, of Oil City, PA., Philip Solida and his wife, Susan of Marietta, GA. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren. Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceeded in death by her grandson and three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, PA. at 10:00a.m. on Thursday, May 10th, with Rev. Ronald Hankey (Retired minister & family friend) officiating.
Interment at Rimersburg Cemetery Rimersburg, PA.
